She-Hulk: Attorney at Law director Kat Coiro reveals how Episode 3’s post-credits twerking scene with rapper Megan Thee Stallion came together.

The following contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 3, “The People vs. Emil Blonsky,” now streaming on Disney+.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law director Kat Coiro has revealed how the series landed guest star Megan Thee Stallion and what went into the rapper twerking with the Jade Giantess.

In an interview with TVLine, Coiro explained that they were looking for “a famous, beautiful, successful woman” for the New Asgardian Light Elf to shapeshift as in the third episode. “Jameela [Jamil, who plays Titania] knew Megan from working on [HBO Max’s] Legendary together, and she brought her up. We were like, ‘Don’t say it if it’s not really true! Don’t tease us with this!'” Coiro said. The director also added that Megan Thee Stallion twerking with She-Hulk was “added to the script on the day, because Tatiana [Maslany] was so excited. She’s the world’s biggest Megan Thee Stallion fan and we were like, ‘We’ve gotta give her something,’ so they threw together this dancing scene.”

Megan Thee Stallion portrayed a fictionalized version of herself in She-Hulk, first appearing in during the fraud trial and then returning for the episode’s post-credits scene where, in addition to becoming She-Hulk’s latest client, she teaches the Jade Giantess how to twerk. The scene left Marvel fans stunned, but many were also quick to declare it one of the best post-credits scenes in MCU history. Maslany has called working with Megan Thee Stallion “a dream come true” and “one of my absolute top moments on set, of anything I’ve ever done. I was shaking and I was nervous, and then the music played and I was like, ‘I’m in a Megan Thee Stallion music video!'” While She-Hulk is a CGI character, Coiro has revealed that it was “100 percent” Maslany twerking in that scene.

She-Hulk Also Reveals Wong’s Relationship with Abomination

After 2021’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings underground fight club scene established that Wong and Emil Blonsky/Abomination knew each other, fans have been curious to learn more about how that relationship was formed. The third episode of She-Hulk has revealed that Wong sought out the Abomination because he required a worthy opponent to fight as part of his training to become the next Sorcerer Supreme. He was also responsible for breaking Blonsky out of his cell and forcing him to turn into the Abomination to compete in the underground fight club, an admission which later leads to Blonsky being granted parole at the episode’s end.

The series also stars Jameela Jamil, Josh Segarra, Ginger Gonzaga, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry. The first three episodes of the series are now streaming on Disney+, with new episodes releasing each Thursday until Oct. 12.
