33 Students Suspended For Twerking

“Twerk”: verb; to dance suggestively by shaking what your mama gave you. Thirty-three San Diego high school students were suspended after a video of them twerking was posted online. While the students at Scripps Ranch High School have spotless track records, the booty dance has gotten them banned from going to the prom, walking at graduation, and participating in sports. It’s unclear whether school administrators feared that the perpetrators would gyrate at these events or if the relatively harsh punishment was intended to deliver a Footloose-inspired warning to the student body’s bodies.
