Mia Yim Snaps On Fan Over Comments About Keith Lee’s Weight

Mia Yim is taking issues with fans who believe that Keith Lee is overweight and refusing to do anything about it to make himself a bigger star.

Former WWE and NXT Mia Yim isn’t all that impressed with fans who are taking shots at her husband (AEW star) Keith Lee over his weight. Lee is a bigger guy in the world of professional wrestling and he’s had health-related issues that Yim claims contributes to his perceived weight problem.

The back and forth between Yim and the fans started when Twitter account Global Fights Revolution wrote, “Walter was a great professional wrestler, to the die-hards. Gunther however is the completed project, of what it means, to be a WWE Superstar. Everything is special, about him. He did. What Keith Lee refused to do. The results are in the presentation.” It’s not clear why the compliment aimed at Gunther required taking a shot at Lee, but Yim took notice and sent a response. She wrote, “Walter is awesome. “What Keith Lee refused to do” When we weren’t sure if he was going to LIVE, the doctors told him if he elevated his heart rate, he could literally die. So working out, even jogging wasn’t an option. But go off about how he chooses to be fat and lazy.”

Yim was asked, (and probably fairly) why Lee is still wrestling if he can’t elevate his heart without health concerns. It appears Yim meant to say that it “was” an issue and it’s less of an issue now. Meaning, that if Lee chose to, there are things he could do to lose weight now that he’s out of the woods (for the most part) with his health concerns. What Yim seemed to take issue with was the insinuation that Lee could have done something about his physique at a time when he couldn’t do much of anything.

Will Lee Get In Better Shape?

One of the rumored reasons for Lee’s departure from WWE was that they felt he lacked the drive and desire to do what was necessary to elevate himself to the next level. He’s got the “it factor” but there have been shots in the past about his drive. He’s still one of the most memorable stars in wrestling and he’s currently one-half of the AEW Tag Team Champions. He’s obviously doing something right, even if he’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

It will be interesting to see if there’s a drive now to lose a couple of pounds or if he’s chosen to present himself as he is and go with it.
