‘OnlyFans gran’ Mishel Karen on the awkward reality of filming porn

Mishel Karen has become one of the biggest names in Australia’s adult industry since leaving Married At First Sight.

But the OnlyFans star insists that there’s a lot more to porn than what viewers see and that it’s nowhere near as sexy and glamorous as people would expect.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia ahead of her appearance at Sydney Sexpo, the 51-year-old grandmother said that making porn is much harder than it looks.

‘I learned during Married At First Sight that there isn’t much real in reality TV. I think the same could be said for OnlyFans – not a lot real in a porn video either,’ she said.

‘Girls and guys don’t always have “real orgasms”,’ she explained.

‘There’s no build up of sexual tension or lust. It’s ACTION and you start the scene and when you’ve filmed what you need then they call “cut!” No one keeps kissing or having sex, it’s over,’ she continued.

‘I have never had so much fake sex in my life,’ she added.

Mishel admitted that the nature of the business has taken some of the pleasure out of performing now.  

‘When I started filming for my OnlyFans I said I would only film what gave me pleasure, although as time goes by it’s more about what the fans want to see and less about revealing my real self,’ she explained.

‘In a way it is about protecting myself and projecting a persona.’

The mum of two also shared that she spends most of her time replying to direct messages from subscribers on OnlyFans.

‘Often you’re sexting with fans, and you’ve been busy cleaning all day and haven’t washed your hair and look like a mess but they are imagining you are sitting back in your bed masturbating over their picture,’ she laughed.

‘It’s impossible to be feeling that aroused all day and night. But it’s my job to be ON when I’, talking to them.’

Despite the difficulties of the business, Mishel is now making more money than she ever has in her entire life, and also has the freedom to dictate her own schedule.

Her new career has allowed her to provide for her two children and grandchild, and to enjoy some of the finer things in life for herself. 

She’s known for performing far more risqué acts than some of her reality TV contemporaries on OnlyFans, including a 12-person group orgy with both men and women.

She also filmed a lesbian threesome this year and sells her used underwear to fans.

Mishel is set to bring her star power to Sydney Sexpo, which will be held from October 28 to 30 at ICC Sydney. Tickets are available now via humanitix.com.
