Seems like Heochan just got himself in some pretty hot water! The K-pop star, who rose to fame with his group VICTON was recently caught drinking and driving, resulting in an ongoing investigation as well some pretty hefty backlash from netizens.
On September 22, it was confirmed by none other than VICTON’s own label that the news was true, and the star was indeed caught drunk driving by police on September 20, even shedding light on what was to be expected next in this case.
IST Entertainment, the label that represents Hoechan and the group stated, “After the investigation, he is expected to be subject to the cancellation of his license. Currently, Heochan is deeply regretful and deeply remorseful for making a mistake he should never have made. He also cannot help but feel sorry to fans and many officials for causing this issue. Heochan plans to suspend his team and individual activities after today.”

It goes without saying that VICTON, at least for the time being will be continuing as a 5-member group till Heochan’s issue is resolved. The star is expected to miss out on their upcoming fan concert ‘2022 VICTON Fan Concert Chronicle’ scheduled for October 15 and 16.

After the DUI was revealed to the public, Heochan took it upon himself to apologise for his actions on social media. Taking to Instagram, a snippet of his apology read, “First, I bow my head and sincerely apologize for having to convey this shameful news ahead of many scheduled activities.”

Continuing, he wrote, “Once again, I apologize for causing social controversy due to my wrongful behavior on September 20. As a public figure who should set a positive example for the general public and my fans, I should have felt even greater responsibility for my actions, but instead, I wound up causing great disappointment through a single moment in which I made the wrong choice. I’m sincerely reflecting on my wrongdoing, and I’m spending each and every day immersed in regret and self-blame.”

He also promised fans that he aims at becoming a person of whom he is not ‘ashamed’
