Boebert Claims Hollywood Trying to Buy Her Old District, Singles Out Ryan Reynolds and Barbra Streisand

Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., accused Hollywood figures Ryan Reynolds and Barbra Streisand of attempting to “buy” with campaign contributions Colorado’s 3rd district — a district she recently announced she’s ditching so she can run in the state’s 4th district.

Boebert called on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” for “Hollywood elites” to be shut down as they have flocked to support Democratic opponent, Adam Frisch, who lost the election to Boebert in 2022 by only 546 votes.

“We have to shut down the Hollywood elites who are trying to buy my current district. There has been close to $10 million poured into this district to buy this seat,” the Colorado Republican said.

“Colorado’s 3rd District is not for sale,” she declared.

Boebert singled out Deadpool star Reynolds and Grammy award winning singer Streisand, claiming the support of such Hollywood figures will be nonexistent with her out of the district.

Newsweek first reported earlier this month that Reynolds and Streisand were among the celebrities lining up to back Frisch in a Boebert rematch.

“They do not have policies they are running on, they are simply running against Lauren Boebert. It’s not just Aspen that the money is coming from, it’s coming from Hollywood,” Boebert complained.

“When you have Barbara Streisand donating to the Democrat, when you have Ryan Reynolds donating to the Democrat, it shows you that Hollywood is trying to buy their way into Congress,” she griped, though had no similar complaints about billionaire businesspeople.

Boebert announced Wednesday that she will not be running for reelection in her current district, acknowledging she would likely lose.

“I am going to do everything in my power to represent the 3rd District well for the remainder of this term as I work to earn the trust of grassroots conservative voters in the 4th District to represent them in 2025,” she wrote.
