Glen Powell said he “almost died” while filming a strip scene for his upcoming romantic comedy Everyone but you.

The 35 year old Top Gun: Maverick Actor plays opposite euphoriais Sydney Sweeney, 26, in Will Gluck’s new film about two people who can’t stand each other but have to pretend they’re the perfect couple at a wedding in Sydney, Australia.

At one point in the film, Powell’s Ben is standing at the top of a cliff when Sweeney’s Bea pulls a large spider out of his shorts, causing Ben to frantically rip off his clothes.

“No one talks about the safety issue on set, where I almost died when I fell off a cliff too quickly and took off my pants,” Powell said diversity to shoot the comedic scene at the film’s recent New York premiere.

“In a scene like that, you just have to hold on to it and really go for it,” he explained.

“You know you’re not going to leave that day of filming cool, so you just have to go for it,” he said, adding, “But it’s a really fun scene, so it was worth the effort.”

Speaking of casting, Gluck said diversity that after Powell joined the project, a few more shirtless scenes were added than originally intended.

“When we saw how committed he was – you know, he always wanted to take his shirt off,” he said Simply A said the director. “I thought to myself, ‘Glen, you don’t need to take your shirt off in this scene, we’re having dinner.’ The shirt is off.”

Last week, Powell gushed about the chemistry between him and his co-star Sweeney. “A great romantic comedy doesn’t survive without good chemistry, and Sydney is the easiest to have chemistry with,” he said Entertainment tonight.

Earlier this year, photos and videos of the couple interacting during the film’s production and subsequent release sent fans into a frenzy and speculated that they were romantically involved. At the time, Powell was believed to be in a relationship with model Gigi Paris, who further fueled the rumors by unfollowing the two actors on social media in April.
