ESPN apologizes for showing Bourbon Street flasher

Bourbon Street

Bourbon Street is known for its laissez-faire attitude and the same carefree attitude of the tourists who visit the area. Unfortunately for ESPN’s Sugar Bowl crew, they missed that memo.

Executives at the “worldwide leader in sports” are issuing a mea culpa after a video clip of a woman on Bourbon Street bearing her breast appeared during Monday night’s Sugar Bowl broadcast. The flashing incident aired during a bump back into the broadcast from commercial break. In the clip, which is circulating on social media, the woman pulls down her top, briefly exposing her nipple, in an (successful) attempt to get someone on a balcony to throw her beads.

“We regret that this happened and apologize that the video aired in the telecast,” ESPN’s Bill Hofheimer said in a statement to The Associated Press.

Washington beat Texas in the Sugar Bowl 37-31.
